Dr. Sean Welander was born in Lake City, Iowa and raised on a farm near Pomeroy, Iowa. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Park University in Chicago, Illinois in 2008. He earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) Degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2012. He completed an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2013 and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in June, 2017.
Dr. Welander joined Centrasota Oral Surgeons in 2017. He was attracted to Minnesota because of its proximity to family as well as providing the opportunity for him to participate in the vast array of outdoor activities that Minnesota has to offer. He was attracted to Centrasota Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in particular because of the high-quality service that the practice provides, the level of care provided by the other surgeons in the practice, and having the opportunity to continue providing full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery care.
Dr. Welander and his wife Linnea have three daughters and a son. Dr. Welander enjoys hunting, fishing, wakeboarding, and snowboarding, as well as most outdoor activities. He also appreciates getting back to the farm as often as possible.
